Bible Class

I've just finished the Bible Class Accounts for 2006 and thought folk in the church would like to hear how things are going. The good news is that the Bible Class has been able to continue to sponsor Dativa Uwizeye in Rwanda through Tear Fund, enabling her to attend school and working to break the cycle of poverty in that country. Even better, the Bible Class have also been able to continue to support the Tear Fund charities, working with (usually orphaned) street children and, separately, providing clean, fresh water to third world communities. Although relatively unglamorous, these activities bring enormous relief to many. That this is done in a Christian context is perhaps one of the best ways of spreading the word and demonstrating God's love.

The best news of all is that, where last year the Bible Class funds had dropped by around £100 year on year, this year we have actually reversed the trend and ended the year in a better financial position allowing us to look forward to continuing the support described above for years to come. This is as a result of a number of things – the folk who save assiduously for the smarties scheme, other generous money donations we get, but last year particularly we had an amazing coffee morning – we made over £340…….. so thank you to everybody for your kind support.

Coffee Morning

The next Bible class coffee morning should be any time now (watch the intimations for the date).

Please try to help us to make a similar success of it this year so that the Bible Class can continue in its very worthwhile giving.
